Maarten Meulenbelt joined Howrey in 2006. Maarten specializes in Dutch and European law in the life sciences sector (competition law and regulatory aspects) and in European and Dutch public procurement law. He also has broad experience in sectors with complex infrastructural projects, such as ports and pipelines.
 
Maarten represents pharmaceutical companies before the Dutch and European licensing bodies and regularly appears before the national courts, the Netherlands Competition Authority (NMa), the European Commission and the European Court of Justice.
 
Maarten is recommended in the European Counsel’s Life Sciences Industry Report and in the Global Counsel’s Life Sciences Report for his work in the pharmaceutical practice, competition law in the Netherlands and Belgium, and his work at a European level. He publishes and regularly lectures on these subjects in Europe and the USA. Maarten is a member of the editorial board of Regulatory Affairs Journal Pharma. Before joining Howrey, Maarten was head of NautaDutilh’s Life Sciences Industry team.
