David Owen is a US patent attorney and attorney at law and has been admitted to the European Patent Office (EPO). David operates in various fields of US and European patent law. His work includes acting as a patent attorney before the USPTO and the EPO, advising on the validity and scope of US and European patents, and assisting in legal proceedings in the USA and Europe.

David is an electrical engineer and has vast experience in the fields of electronics and telecommunications, including semiconductors and their production methods, video, audio and speech compression, computer architecture, telecommunication systems, software and Internet related applications. Before starting his career in law, David was an electrical engineer in New Zealand, Singapore and the USA for ten years. David regularly publishes on various subjects in the fields of US and European patent law.
